WAAAYYYY too early 2012 speculation

I'm thinking of former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, or Bobby Jindal. Possibly Sarah Palin, but she needs to let the social conservative stuff take a back seat to kitchen table, limited gov and economic issues.

The biggest takeaway from the 2008 election is that we - all of us, each and every one of us, - to vote TJ/2012.

I'd love to see Bobby Jindahl. I'd like Sarah also, but they are sliming her pretty well, might be hard to beat. I still remember what they did to Dan Quayle.

No matter who it is should find a way to find the right message. Being a conservative doesn't mean being against social programs. Whoever it is should stress the need to provide opportunities for everyone by first eliminating barriers to opportunity. Conservatives have been painted into a corner by being displayed as cold and heartless. It hasn't helped that the leadership of conservative movements tend to sound negative rather than having a positive message.

It is time to start showing how conservative approaches can provide opportunities. It doesn't work to sound like one is always against education funding or transit funding or things that help poorer people. it makes a conservative sound like they are against poor people. Not a good message.

Conservatives offer the best opportunities by not stifling free enterprise. No one ever got ahead by taking free stuff. I don't think it is heartless to offer jobs and the chance to advance your career. Our government already spends a fortune on programs that have not helped anyone and if anything, harmed families and taken away good entry level jobs.
People should vote with their brains, not their emotions.
I am not anonymous.

I am sorry that anonymous bothers you. I frankly do not want to join any other place. And I am also conservative. My only point is that the message has to be done right or it will be a loss. Of course, it offers opportunity but it doesn't come across that way. It comes across as heartless.

I would rather the opportunity be given and the person takes advantage of it rather than get a handout. Getting people an education and getting them to and from work is hardly a handout.

Lighten up.
